Board making, tracing and printing — taught from your first class, the way the masters did it.
Exact paint, brush and gold-foil sources — with shop names in your country. Buy your own. Stay independent.
Many of our students now teach, run studios, or sell their paintings. That is the goal — not subscriptions.
Three classical traditions of India. Taught the way they were always meant to be taught — slowly, by hand, one student at a time.

Delicate brushwork in soft vegetable colours, finished with fine gold highlights. Quieter than Tanjore. Just as devotional.

I have been painting since I was a child. For the last 17 years, I have taught — first in classrooms, now online to students all over the world.
I hold a Drawing Certification and a Master's in Fine Arts from Chandigarh University. Before art became my full-time work, I trained as a Computer Science engineer. Both worlds taught me patience.
My research is in reviving traditional Indian art forms — Tanjore, Mysore, Kerala Mural — using only natural, eco-friendly ingredients. The way our gurus made them.
Most online classes give you a printed canvas and call it teaching. We don't. From your very first class, you learn the whole craft:
Many of our students are now art teachers themselves. Some run their own studios. Some sell their paintings on commission. We celebrate that — spreading this art across the world matters more to us than holding onto students.
Pick the format that fits your week. Both follow the same syllabus and the same teacher. Same for adults and kids.
Learn alongside a small group from India, the UK and the US — same schedule each week, structured curriculum.
Most students finish within 3 months. If you'd like to keep going, you can continue at $160 / month — Ratnadevi will support you for as long as you need.
Limited to 8 students per batch so everyone gets attention.
Bring your own design — a deity, a portrait, a memory — or pick from our library. Ratnadevi guides you privately at your pace.
Most students finish within 3 months. If you'd like to keep going, you can continue at $190 / month — same private slot, same teacher.
Best for portraits, gifts on a deadline, or anyone who wants undivided attention.
Two or more students taking the same subject together get 10% off the total fee.
When someone you refer joins, you and your friend each get one free class.
Course minimum is 3 months. Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. See Terms and Refund Policy.
Three simple steps. We take care of everything else.
Fill the short form on our Register page. We email you within 24 hours with payment details and class timings.
We share a complete material list as a PDF — with where to buy, mostly from Amazon, Home Depot, Hobby Lobby, Michaels and similar. Shipping and customs (where applicable) are the student's responsibility.
Open the Zoom link at class time. Paint along with Ratnadevi. Ask questions. Take it slow.
Not at all. Most of our students had never held a brush before joining. We start from the very basics — board, trace, lines — and build slowly.
Classes can be carried forward to the next month. Make-up classes can be scheduled with 24 hours notice on any weekday. See our full terms.
You buy your own — and that's intentional. We send a complete material list as a PDF with where to buy, mostly from Amazon, Home Depot, Hobby Lobby, Michaels and similar. Shipping and customs (where applicable) are your responsibility. Most students spend less than the cost of one month of class on starter materials.
From 7 years upward. Younger children join with a parent. There is no upper age limit — Ratnadevi has taught students up to 65.
Two hours a week — typically one 2-hour session, or split as two 1-hour sessions. That's roughly 24 hours of live teaching across the 3-month course. Tanjore and Kerala Mural classes can run longer when we are doing gold work.
All course fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. The course is a minimum of 3 months. Read the full refund policy before registering.
Yes — many of our most loved batches are parent-and-child. Group pricing applies when 2 or more take the same subject. WhatsApp us to discuss.
Just finished my first Tanjore painting from scratch with Ms Ratna. She is a fantastic teacher who pays close attention to every detail. She guided me through every step and made sure the work was corrected until it was perfect. Her teaching style is motivating and professional. I am so happy with how my painting turned out — highly recommended for anyone looking for thorough, high-quality instruction.
Ratnadevi is a wonderful teacher and teaches very patiently. She is very knowledgeable and extremely talented — very punctual, and classes are conducted in a timely and orderly manner. She pays a lot of attention to every single detail. Despite my reservations about online art classes at the beginning — because I had never taken art classes — she made me feel at ease and taught me slowly and methodically. I am very happy and look forward to learning more from her.
I started learning Tanjore art from Devi online since August. She is so dedicated in teaching — she never misses even a minute detail. Very patient and comprehensive. She is a multi-faceted artist. I just completed my first painting and my family and friends are so happy to see my work. Thank you so much, Devi. Stay blessed.
